It’s been 22 years since Jennifer Aniston hit our screens as Rachel Green (I know, we feel old too…) in timeless TV show ‘Friends’ and since the first moment of the first show she’s been inspiring us with her style. A whole generation of women have, at some point, stepped into a hairdresser, clutching her photo and ask for a “Rachel” and some of her outfits on the show are still iconic all these years later. In honour of Miss Aniston, we thought we’d take a look back at her evolving style:

Rachel Green 1994

Before Jennifer got the snip, her hair was a lot less structured and she wore it with a natural wave and high shine around her heart-shaped face. Aged just 25, her fresh-faced look made her a firm favourite on screens and in beauty magazines alike.

The Rachel 1996

The Rachel was debuted in the 20th episode of Friends, “The One With the Evil Orthodontist”, and she wore the world’s most famous hairstyle for a long 2 years. Although many women tried to emulate the style, it was actually notoriously tricky to maintain for the average woman and was also awful to grow out because of the extensive layering!

Rachel Long Bob 2000

Skip forward a few years and Jennifer (or Rachel!) is wearing her hair in a sleeker, more sophisticated long bob, which was FAR easier to emulate and manage, but never quite received the same reception as ‘The Rachel’. The colour was actually growing out from dark blonde to her natural mid-brown, creating a baylayage effect WELL before that was even a thing.

He's Just Not That Into You

By 2009, Friends was long gone and Jennifer had starred in a number of films, such as ‘He’s Just Not That Into You’. 15 years after she first hit our screens, Jennifer looks a lot more grown up and, frankly, a lot more comfortable in her own skin, which is still ridiculously flawless.

Jennifer Aniston 2016

Jump up to present day and Jennifer is clearly aging very well. Aside from the nose job she had in her early 20’s, she doesn’t appear to have had any facial surgery and is softening with age, giving her a mature, elegant look. She always keeps her make-up minimal, with nude eyes and light pastel lips, and her excellent bone-structure is still the envy of women half her age.
