Dermalogica All Over Toner

New bags, shiny pencil cases, smart blazers and bus passes are often top of the list when it comes to back to school preparation, but what about skincare. Getting young people into a beauty routine is a good idea and what better time than now to introduce them to something new for their skin?

Cleanse, tone and moisturise is a good place to start, so we’ll give you the low down on that first and throw in some added extra so you’ve got all bases covered and top marks will be scored.

Clean skin is happy skin, so we would suggest using the Dermalogica Foaming Wash for deep cleansing and purifying morning and night. Perfect for teenage skin that is prone to acne and breakouts, this doesn’t strip away essential oils but instead washes away nasties that don’t help the skin. Meadowsweet has been added to protect against excess sebum, salicylic acid gently exfoliates away dead cells and reduces inflammation ,while tea tree oil kills bacteria.

Next to come into play is the Dermalogica All Over Toner. This refreshing, toner contains an impressive twelve gentle botanicals that refresh, energise and revive the skin in one go. We love that orange peel and lavender oil have been added to soothe skin and when you spray it onto the face, neck and back, after cleansing, the goodness gets straight to work.

Some people think that spotty skin doesn’t need to be moisturised, but this isn’t the case as the right products help skin look and feel better. What you might have been looking for is the Dermalogica Hydrating Lotion. This lightweight, easy to use cream helps soothe the discomfort caused by breakouts, while hydrating dry patches. Apply after toning and let the ginger, orange and grapefruit soothe and protect the skin, while plant based squalane softens and nourishes it.

OK, what next?

Well, we all love a pamper, so when the homework has been done, why not try a hot bath and pop on the Dermalogica Blackhead Clearing Fizz Mask. As you soak your troubles away, the mask will decongest skin so it is clear and blackhead free. Things don’t stop there, as added kaolin clay absorbs excess oil and apple is on hand to hydrate.

Last but not least, if the pimple pops up after PE, a bottle of Dermalogica Breakout Clearing Booster in the kit bag will do the job. Salicylic acid has been added to get rid of bacteria and phytoplankton extract prevents the over drying that can happen with some harsher products. The best thing is that it works in 15 minutes, so by the end of lunch skin can be smoother and worries will be over.

Fancy trying a sample or two? Get in touch and we would love to help.

Have a Home Spa Experience with Elemis

Going to a spa is one of our favourite indulgences, but it’s not something we’re able to do do every weekend due to time and money (mores the pity!). There’s no reason, however, that you shouldn’t have that spa experience right from your own home and Elemis have a selection of products which are perfect for giving you that spa-glow without having to step foot outside your house. Read on for our pick the the best ‘home spa’ products from the Elemis ranges:

Elemis Body Detox Skin Brush

We recommend that you begin your spa experience with a gentle brushing with the Elemix Body Detox Skin Brush; its natural cactus bristles help to reduce the appearance of cellulite by improving circulation and softening the skin. It will help you to brush away the top layer of dry, dead skin cells to allow you to treat the new skin beneath with a cocoon of moisture from all the other products you use.

Elemis Aching Muscle Super Soak

The next step is to turn your bath into a hot tub and soak your aching muscles in this Super Soak. It contains a blend of botanicals which not only help to unknot tense muscles but also to relax the mind through the power of aroma. The mixture of birch, juniper, clove, alpine lavender, wild thyme and blue chamomile, combined with sea salt will uplift and invigorate the senses whilst warming the body and recharging your muscles.

Elemis Devils Mint Body Scrub

Once you’ve finished your soak, we highly recommend giving your body another level of exfoliation to ensure that any dead skin is totally removed. This devil’s mint body scrub uses peppermint to give your skin a real “ZING!”, and literally polishes your body using only natural ingredients. We’d recommend focusing on common dry areas, such as your knees, elbows and feet to give them a really good going over.

Elemis De-Stress Massage Oil

Once you’ve awoken your mind and body, we recommend giving yourself a chance to relax once again by smothering yourself in this de-stress massage oil in long, sweeping strokes – or if you’re lucky enough to have someone around to help, get them to do it for you. This oil is intended for use in conjunction with deep breathing and calming visualisations, so try to use it in a quiet, darkened room where you can really allow yourself to relax.

Elemis British Botanical Hand and Nail Butter

For a final touch, we would recommend treating your hands and nails to their own personal coating of moisture from this hand and nail butter. Our hands are often one of the most neglected areas of our body, whilst arguably being one of the most hard-working, so ensuring that they’re properly moisturised and massaged will really add that final touch to your spa experience – you could even give yourself a manicure beforehand!

For many of our customers, using products which contain natural ingredients is of utmost importance as they want to ensure that everything they put on their skin is completely chemical-free. We sell many products which are derived from natural botanicals, so we thought we’d give you an overview of some of the best:

Dermalogica Ultra Sensitive Tint SPF30

This product from Dermalogica performs many different functions, harnessing the power of botanicals to help guard skin against premature aging and irritation as well as using tinted earth minerals to give a light coverage and also protecting the skin from the sun’s harmful UV rays. It protects against the signs of ageing as well as irritation and is a great all-round product.

Dermalogica Multivitamin Power Recovery Masque

This intensive, concentrated masque contains a high concentration of vitamins and botanical extracts to give a powerful dose of moisture to the skin, aid collagen synthesis, increase elasticity and restore suppleness. It’s a product with a luxurious feel which can be used twice a week.

Elemis British Botanical Shower Cream

Having a shower can be as functional or as luxurious as you want it, simply by tweaking the products you use, and this shower cream from Elemis is the perfect luxuriant cream. It contains lavender, geranium, chamomile and palmerosa which combine to make a deeply relaxing and restorative shower experience.

Dermalogica Intensive Eye Repair

The eyes are an area in which we should all be careful about the products we use because the skin is so delicate, which is why this intensive eye repair from Dermalogica contains eye-soothing botanicals of cucumber, butcherbroom and arnica to help maintain the skin’s optimum health and restore suppleness. It has a high concentration of vitamins A, C and E to restore the skin on the deepest level.

Dermalogica Skin Prep Scrub

Scrubbing the skin can be tricky; you want to slough away the dead skin cells as efficiently as possible without causing irritation to the skin, which is why using natural ingredients is important as they won’t damage the epidermis. This prep scrub from Dermalogica uses natural corn cob meal as an exfoliant, and also contains mallow, ivy and aloe vera to soothe and protect the skin, leaving you feeling refreshen without being overstimulated.
