Elemis Sweet Orchid Monoi Body Oil

Hand and nail care might not be everyone’s primary beauty concern, but they do take a battering every day, so giving them a little TLC isn’t a bad day.

At Pure Beauty, we sell a range of products that help keep your hands and nails looking, and feeling, fantastic.

Soap can really dry out your skin, so you may want to swap it for the Elemis Sensitive Cleansing Wash. While this is a fash wash, it is ideal for sensitive, dry hands because it is made from extracts of Thyme, German Chamomile and Lady’s Mantle which soothe and calm the skin. The rich cleansing foam cleans and conditions hands without the harshness of some soaps which means they are left feeling soft and refreshed.

The Elemis Exotic Frangipani Monoi Hand and Nail Cream is a gorgeous smelling hand cream that offers long-lasting comfort. It contains Shea Butter which is packed with essential fatty acids that leaves the hands feeling beautifully smooth and thanks to the Omegas 3, 6, 7 and Oleic Acid of Macadamia Seed Oil, skin is totally nourished from the very first use. Apply as needed and not only will you have happy hands but ones that are fragranced with the exquisite scent of Frangipani Flowers.

If you are worried about the signs of ageing on your hands, why not try the Jan Marini Bioglycolic Hand and Body Lotion? Glycolic Acid, Aminophylline and Shea Butter have been blended together to help improve the appearance of ageing and environmentally damaged skin. Used once or twice a day, this cream will lead to visibly smoother, hydrated skin.

One of our handbag essentials has to be the Elemis Pro-Radiance Hand and Nail Cream. Milk Protein, Avellana Seed Oil, Camellia, Virgin Plum and Macadamia have been mixed together to create a strong, but silky, barrier that locks in moisture. Litsea, Jasmine, Magnolia and a hint of Vanilla have also been added and this means that not only do your hands and nails look healthy and radiant, but they smell lush too.

If you do want to pay more attention to your nails, using the Elemis Sweet Orchid Monoi Body Oil can help. This divine body oil is enriched with a unique blend of Monoi and Mauve Butterfly Orchid which together condition your skin, hair, and nails. For best results, massage into your hands and feet after bathing as this will offer an intensive moisturising treatment and can form part of a home manicure and pedicure.

Age spots aren’t just a problem for faces, they can be seen on hands too. The Elemis White Brightening Dark Spot Corrector deals with these and thanks to the easy to use brush applicator, you can directly target key areas of concern on your face, neck, décolleté and hands. It is the combination of Vitamin C, Pea, Daisy and Garden Cress, a powerful anti-oxidant phytonutrient, that help reduce the intensity of dark spots and leave skin looking more even and youthful.

If you would like more information about these or any of our products, get in touch and we would love to help find something that is right for you.

Four Things You Should Know Before Getting a Gel Manicure

Royalty-free image

In the past, if we wanted a manicure which lasted any length of time, you’d have to get acrylic overlays which require infills every few weeks and ended up costing a lot in maintenance. Now, if you want a manicure which lasts and looks good, but doesn’t ruin our own nails, you can opt for gel polish, which is cured (hardened) with a UV lamp and can last a matter of weeks. The application process is far simpler and you can have it applied straight to your own nails. Here are four things that we think you should know before opting for a gel mani:

Your Nails Don’t Need to Breathe

A common myth that gets touted around is that your nails won’t be able to ‘breathe’ if you have gel nails, but it’s actually codswallop. Your nails don’t need to be in direct contact with the air around them and having a gel manicure won’t somehow suffocate them! It can strip some of the oils from you nails leaving them a little dry, but that’s nothing that a little Elemis Sweet Orchid Monoi Body Oil won’t solve.

You Should Sunscreen Your Hands!

A lot of people don’t make the connection that the UV lamps which are used for gel manicures are basically the same type of bulbs which are used for tanning beds, which means that exposure leaves you vulnerable to melanoma. Before you have your mani (or do it yourself), use a sunscreen such as Elemis Liquid Layer SPF30 on your fingers to protect them from harmful rays.

You Can Do It Yourself

Not everyone has the spare cash to go to a nail salon once every couple of weeks to get their nails redone, but what you might not know is that gel manicures are more than achievable at home. You can pick up a kit which includes a curing lamp that gives you everything you need to get a salon-fresh look, and there are a lot of YouTube videos to help guide you through the process.

Be Careful With Your Cuticles

One of the things that a decent manicurist will do is take care of your cuticles before applying gel paint, so that it doesn’t stick to them and cause lifting around the edges. However, having your cuticles cut can leave you at really high risk of infection, and having them pushed back is a much better and more hygienic way to deal with them. If you’ve got some Elemis Tea Tree S.O.S. Spray in your bag, a quick spritz on your fingers one your mani has completely set would be great way to prevent germs from spreading.

Combatting Some of the Most Common Body Issues

Royalty-free image

Thanks to years of airbrushing in magazines and unrealistic beauty expectations, it’s a sad fact that most women will easily pinpoint at least one issue with their body that they don’t like. While we can’t do anything to address the deeper issues of insecurity, we can offer some advice to help with some of the more superficial ones, so we’ve put together a list of some of the most common body beauty complaints and how to deal with them.

Cellulite

It’s estimated that 90% of women have cellulite in at least one area of their body, and yet it’s still talked about in hushed tones, like it’s the last taboo. While we’re all for embracing your body in all of its glory, dry brushing with Elemis Body Detox Skin Brush, followed by a thorough massaging with Elemis Cellutox Active Body Oil can greatly help to break up fatty deposits under the skin and reduce the appearance of cellulite.

Stretch Marks

Stretch marks can be caused by a number of different things, such as pregnancy, weight gain or muscle-building, and although they generally fade by themselves over time, some people like to have a helping hand and reducing them. Decleor Prolagene Gel is contains an amino acid called Proline L., which is similar to plant collagen and helps re-build the skin’s supporting fibres, helping to heal stretch marks from within.

Dry Skin

Dry skin is often caused by using products containing soap, spending too much time in the sun or central heating and is usually worse on areas like elbows and knees. Exfoliate dry areas using Decleor 1000 Grains Body Exfoliator Travel to get rid of the top layer of dry skin and follow up with Elemis Skin Nourishing Body Cream which is designed to nourish and soften dry skin, for a perfectly moisturised body.

Bumpy Skin

A lot of people we speak to complain of having skin which has a “chicken skin” appearance, with tiny bumps all over it. This actually has a name; it’s called keratosis pilaris and is incredibly common. Regularly using Elemis Frangipani Monoi Salt Glow, which is rich in mineral salts and hibiscus to cleanse and exfoliate your skin will reduce the appearance of these little bumps, and following it with Elemis Sweet Orchid Monoi Body Oil will prevent parched skin from creating too much keratin.

Calluses

Hard skin on the feet can be really tricky to deal with as it becomes impacted under the weight of your body, making it even harder to remove. Using a pumice stone after a hot bath or shower can help to reduce the amount of hard skin, and using Elemis Treat Your Feet Foot Cream can stop the hard skin from building up so much in the first place.

It’s a time when Mums deserve to be pampered, and buying them the gift of beauty is a great way to do that. If your Mum spends a lot of time on her feet, this foot cream would be the ideal present for her. It’s an intensely moisturising formula which melts into the feet, nourishing the skin and softening areas of hardness. It contains conditioning shea butter and jojoba oil and smells wonderful. Decleor 1000 Grains Body Exfoliator

This exfoliator from Decleor has a unique consistency, which starts as a gel, which then turns into an oil and then becomes an easy-to-rinse milk upon contact with water. It contains grapefruit oil and pearl sugar which combines to leave the skin feeling softer, smoother and refined.

Elemis Sweet Orchid Monoi Body Oil
