 Elemis Absolute Eye Mask

Whether it is acne, dry patches, fine lines, blemishes, chapped hands or deepening wrinkles you struggle with when it comes to your skin, at Pure Beauty, we sell a range of products that can help you get to grips with the issues that trouble you the most.

All about the eyes
We love the Elemis Absolute Eye Mask because it does so much to help your eyes look fantastic. When applied to the delicate eye area it helps to decongest, firm and tone, whilst nourishing and smoothing at the same time – amazing. You can use it twice a week and by leaving the ingredients to get to work for 10 minutes, tired eyes will be brightened and revitalised.

It’s all about the combo
If you have combination skin, the Elemis Balancing Lime Blossom Cleanser could be what you have been looking for. It deeply cleanses your skin so that dirt and make-up are removed and excess oil is balanced, but not totally wiped away. Extracts of Lime Blossom, Lecithin and Vitamin E soothe and moisturise so that skin is bursting with health and vitality.

Tighten up
Adding the Jan Marini C-ESTA Serum to your beauty regime can help tone and tighten your skin in the areas you most need it. Packed with skin loving Vitamin C, this powerful antioxidant serum helps reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Ongoing use means lines will be less pronounced and skin will look even-toned and healthy.

Spot it
Let’s face it, we have all suffered with spots at one time or another and sometimes the creams used to help make things better, actually make them worse. The Dermalogica Hydrating Lotion soothes discomfort and hydrates dryness so your skin feels happy once again.

What about your body?
You might take care of your face, but the rest of your body needs more than shower gel to keep it in check. The Elemis Exotic Frangipani Monoi Body Cream is the answer to your prayers as this luxurious product is enriched with Macadamia and Sesame Oil and it leaves skin feeling super soft and silky smooth. Thanks to Frangipani Flowers you will smell great too.

Hand it to me
The cold weather, central heating and endless contact with water, means that our hands really do take a battering during the day. To ensure your hands are soft and smooth, we would suggest you keep a tube of Elemis Pro-Radiance Hand and Nail Cream in your bag. It has a luxurious texture which is quickly absorbed by the skin so that hands and nails are instantly rejuvenated and conditioned. Milk Protein, Avellana Seed Oil, Omega 7, Camellia, Virgin Plum and Macadamia have been blended to create a rich formula that locks in moisture. White flowers, Litsea, Jasmine, Magnolia and a hint of Vanilla, means that hands don’t only look youthful and radiant but they smell sensational too.

Tired, dull skin
If you need rescuing from tired, lacklustre, dull skin, add the Dermalogica Charcoal Rescue Masque to your basket. This all-in-one treatment detoxifies, brightens and invigorates your skin and can be used by everyone.

If you have any questions about these, or any products we stock, get in touch and we would love to help.

We all know that being kind to others can give you a feel-good boost, but what about turning the goodness in on yourself once in a while? Far from being selfish, random acts of self-kindness can give your body some much-needed love, a little self-compassion releases a dose of feel-good serotonin and the chance to sit back and take your foot off the cortisol pedal can only be a good thing?

We know this might sounds a bit ‘out there’ but bear with us and we think you will like at least one of the suggestions we have made and hope you will try it out for yourself.

Write a gratitude diary
Before you go to bed, write down your thoughts from the day and make a list of what has made you happy and those things that made you grateful. It could be having a coffee with a friend, watching a beautiful sunset or simply having a hot bath are just some of the simple things which help life look better. Buy a pretty notebook, make a list each day and you will be surprised at just how much good there is in your life.

Just say no
You might not think it, but it is OK to say no to plans from time to time. We know that people have busy lives and family and friends make constant demands but sometimes missing that party or those drinks in the pub really won’t matter and you will be surprised at how taking it easy can perk you up way more than a sugary cocktail.

Colour in
The craze for adult colouring books isn’t going away, and for good reason. Turing off from the demands of life and simply drawing in between the lines with nothing else to focus on or worry about can be really relaxing and slightly addictive.

Work on yourself
Investing in your emotional wellbeing and mental health can be one of the best things you do for yourself in the long-run. Whether you see a therapist to talk over your issues, have a reflexology session, or read a self-help book and put the ideas into practice, all of these will help you see you who are so you can be happy.

Have cake and tea
Find a quiet café, where no one knows you, take a magazine or book, order a cup of tea and a slice of cake and enjoy the moment.

Try a little retail therapy
Every once in a while, buy something just for you. This doesn’t have to be something extravagant but treating yourself to a unicorn mug, your favourite scented candle or a really soft sweater can remind you that you are worth it.

Have a massage
Every now and again, book a massage, facial or manicure and let someone else look after you for a while.

Chill out
Do a yoga class. Meditate on the beach. Be alone with your thoughts. These are ways that you can turn off from the world and listen to your body, you just need to find what works for you.

Drop the guilt
Too many of us are consumed with guilt and what other people think of us. Leave those unhelpful feelings at the door and learn to accept that you are human and perfect the way you are. Use your time for what makes you feel good and don’t worry about what anyone else thinks.

Enjoy a bath
This one is super easy but often left off lists. Turn off your phone, pour bubbles into warm water, light some candles and let your worries melt away as you really let go and relax. Make Sunday night your escape night, a random act of kindness to yourself and you will end the weekend, and start the new week, looking after number one.

Banish Your Pre-Holiday Skin Problems

Royalty-free image

Summer has officially started, now that we’re past the longest day, and for many of us that means that we can really start to look forward to our holidays. However, baring all on the beach or going make-up free can feel like a totally nightmare if you’ve got skin issues, so we thought we’d take a look at five common skin complaints and what you can do to clear them up before it’s time to jet off to hotter climes.

Cellulite

Probably the single most common issue for women to be worried about before sticking on their bathing suit is cellulite. As most of use know, cellulite is an area of fat cells which gives a dimply appearance – and most of us have it somewhere on our bodies! Elemis Cellutox Active Body Oil is a treatment oil which can be massaged into areas of cellulite to help to banish the build up of toxins which cause cellulite and give a more even appearance if used regularly.

Acne

Acne isn’t usually something whch is going to be cured overnight, but for many sufferers the thought of going bare-faced beside the pool is a massive no-no. Switching to the Dermalogica Clear Start system ahead of your holiday should help to get your skin under control, and using Dermalogica Breakout Control in the event of a breakout should help to give you skin-confidence.

Dry Skin

Nothing can ruin the look of a bikini worse than dry skin everywhere and ashy-looking knees and elbows! Nourishing your skin with a rich moisturiser before you go away will not only help to banish your dry skin, but it can also help to prep your skin for sun exposure, helping you to get a more even tan and avoid burning. Use Elemis Frangipani Monoi Body Oil for an intense burst of moisture with a scent which will make you think of a tropical island every time you use it!

Oily Skin

Hot weather can really exacerbate the over-production of sebum so if you’re prone to oily skin, going on holiday can be a really worry for your complexion. Using Decleor 2 in 1 Purifying and Oxygenating Mask will help to deeply mattify your skin before you jet off, and packing Dermalogica Oil Control Lotion will give you the peace of mind of knowing that you have your skin under control.

Stretch Marks

Many women now embrace their ‘tiger stripes’ because they’re a totally normal part of being a woman, but for some of us, we still feel a little self-conscious about stretch marks. Decleor Sculpt Stretch Mark Restructuring Gel-Cream, when applied regularly, will to help prevent and reduce the appearance of stretch marks, giving you the confidence to bear-all on the beach.
