Over the past decade, Christmas markets have become increasingly popular in the UK, and with events popping up all over the place, there is something for everyone.

Whether you are looking for handmade gifts, fine wines, exquisite foods or just the chance to feel festive and get together with family and friends before the full blown celebrations start, we think we have something that will be right for you.

Exeter
Set to the back drop of the city’s beautiful cathedral, the Exeter Christmas market takes place between 15th November and 16th December and isn’t to be missed. Wooden chalets are occupied by local and national businesses selling everything from original art work and handmade leather bags, to delicious gins and seasonal cakes, and with a buzzing atmosphere, a visit won’t disappoint. Make a weekend of it and you can also visit the seaside town of Teignmouth or go wild on Dartmoor – with so much to do, see and buy, you won’t want to go home.

Bath
Between 22 November and 9 December, nearly 200 stalls selling a wide range of products that you won’t find on the High Street, will line the pretty streets of Bath. Beautiful ceramics and glass wear, bespoke clothes, toys and sweets are all on offer, together with foodies selling crepes, hog roasts and mulled wine too. Why not stay at one of the city’s boutique hotels, visit the Roman Baths and by the time you get home you will be feeling relaxed and ready for the festivities ahead of you.

Edinburgh
Edinburgh, isn’t just for New Year, you know. Between 17 November and 5 January this beautiful Scottish city is alive with Christmas activities that attract thousands of visitors every year. From the markets at the East Princes Street Gardens, to the popular Johnnie Walker Bothy Bar, the bumper cars and Christmas tree maze, Edinburgh is an experience you don’t want to miss!

Belfast
From 17 November to December 22, the streets of Belfast are transformed into a totally magical Christmas affair. The very best Belgian chocolates and German sausages, arts and crafts, decorations and clothes, are all on sale from stalls scattered between the helter skelter and vintage carousel, and with Santa’s Grotto to visit it too, we suggest you book a flight, and soon.

Winchester
When it comes to Christmas markets, Winchester really does lead the way. Between 17 November and 20 December, this medieval city becomes even more special as wooden chalets line Cathedral Close and offer Christmas cheer. Businesses come together to sell a whole host of beautiful products which will make treasured gifts, and with an open-air ice rink, pretty nativity and delicious food court selling goodies such as mince pies, pasties and stollen, you will want to go back year after year.

If you have somewhere special you love to visit, let us know so we can try it out too.

Elemis Superfood Day Cream

We all know we should include fruit and vegetables in your diet to get those all important vitamins, but at Pure-Beauty, we sell a whole range of products that are packed with goodness so you look great too.

Let’s start with the Elemis Superfood Day Cream which is like a smoothie in the form of an amazing beauty product. This illuminating moisturiser is rich in anti-oxidant oils and vitamin dense supergreens and also has an active Pre-Biotic to balance, hydrate and smooth skin. Ginger, Matcha Tea and Goji Berry have been added into the mix so that complexions smoother, softer and revitalised.

If you love Vitamin C in your juice, then you might be interested to know that it is the secret ingredient in the Jan Marini C-ESTA Cleansing Gel. This potent cleanser is perfect for all skin types and just a small amount massaged into the skin morning and night will leave it not only clean but also feeling softer than ever.

The Dermalogica Antioxidant HydraMist is a light, refreshing antioxidant magical mist that has been created to intensely hydrate dry, tired skin. Thanks to a highly-active Vitamin C complex which has been combined with collagen-stimulating peptides, skin is firmed and fine lines fade. Super effective Hyaluronic Acid quenches thirsty skin while Pea Extract lifts and tightens while Rose and Clove extracts comfort and refresh. Sounds like a lot, we know, but give it a go and we think you will be pleasantly surprised with the results.

It is the Vitamins B3 and CG in the Decleor Intense Glow Dark Circle Corrector that help to protect and brighten the sensitive eye area that can give away so much about our lives and lifestyle. This light cream targets darkness and dullness and while Caffeine aids drainage, Orange Pigments deliver instant illumination. Simply apply a small amount morning and evening around the eye area, gently tap with fingertips until the product is completely absorbed and let the ingredients get to work.

We love the Elemis Balancing Lime Blossom Cleanser because it deeply cleans the skin, effectively removing the build-up of daily dirt and make-up. Specifically designed for combination and congested skin, the active extracts of Lime Blossom and Lecithin balance excess surface oils so that skin can breathe. Vitamin E moisturises the skin while Omega-6 rich Vitamin F nourishes and conditions. The result is a healthy complexion that feels smooth and looks healthy.

We can’t go without mentioning the Dermalogica Multivitamin Power Firm which is our go-to product for combating lines around the eyes and mouth. Perfect for using on drier and prematurely ageing skin, this gorgeous blend of Vitamin A, C and E helps to accelerate the skin’s natural repair process, strengthens elasticity and improves smoothness all while defending against damaging free radicals. Smooth a little of the product around visible signs of ageing morning and night and we think you will love it as much as we do in no time at all.

If you are interested in more information about these products or would like to try some samples so you can find the right vitamin fix for you, get in touch today and we would love to help.

We bet you don’t often think of January as being a magical month?

Credit card bills, back to work and a bulging waistline often get in the way of enjoy the New Year, but why not turn things round and see this as an exciting first chapter the next part of your life?

We have had a look at how you can turn what many people thing is the hardest month of the year, into something special.

Get lost in a good book
Step away from the Kindle, go into town and have a browse the shelves of your local bookshop or library. From chic lit to poetry and thrillers to biographies, there really is something for everyone. Reading lets you escape from the trappings of modern life and an hour or two away from social media and news feeds, has to be a good thing.

Go on a mini break
In true Bridget Jones style, pack your overnight bag and get away from it all. You don’t have to spend a fortune as there are many offers around for hotels and spas around, but a traditional seaside B&B can be just the escape you need. Long walks by the sea, tea and scones by a roaring fire and fish and chips out of the paper watching the sunset could be the perfect antidote to the January blues.

Write it down
They say we all have a book inside of us, why not use January to get that novel down on paper? You might not do it all in one go, but making a start on a kid’s tale or sci-fi story, rather than bingeing on box-sets will give you a creative outlet and you never know, you might produce the next bestseller?

Cook up a feast
Yes, we know we are meant to step away from the cakes and cookies, but January is the perfect time to look at nourishing your body with healthy food rather than punishing it with a detox. From stews and soups to curries and fresh bread, you can use the dark nights to brush up on your cookery skills and with some candles on the table and music in the background you can have friends over for a quiet night of catching up and making plans.

Take a picnic outside
When the sun comes out, pack a picnic, get your wellies and dine alfresco this January. Yes, you might need thermals and gloves, but there is something magical about walking in the crisp countryside and breathing in crystal clear air – take a flask of hot chocolate and you will be warm and toasty.

Plot and plan
There is nothing like a beautiful diary or pretty notebook to start a new chapter in your life. Rather than getting depressed about the parties and presents being over, use January to look ahead and plan your future. Dreams are great, but working on making them a reality can be exciting and inspiring.

Whatever you do this January, make it your most magical ever.
