Improve Your Skin in just Five Minutes

Having a daily skin routine is important, but sometimes we need an extra little boost to get our skin back to its best. Rather than going for expensive (and potentially painful!) non-invasive procedures, there are things you can use which can improve your skin dramatically in just five minutes – masks! We’ve trawled through our products to single out the best masks, and we thought we’d share our favourites with you:

Decleor Energy Concentrate Youth Mask

This mask is perfect for ageing skin which needs a boost and contains highly concentrated extracts of peony, lychee and rhodiola to re-energise the skin. It helps the skin to look firmer, plumper and younger and will imbue the skin with a luminous glow. It should be applied to the face once or twice a week after cleansing for best results.

Elemis Dynamic Resurfacing Gel Mask

This powerful gel mask from Elemis helps to completely resurface the skin, giving it a refined texture and ridding your complexion of excess sebum. The skin appears instantly smoother, shine free and more youthful and it’s formulated in line with the ELEMIS Promise, which means no parabens, no SLES, mineral oil or artificial colours.

Dermalogica Skin Refining Masque

This mask from Dermalogica is based on bentonite clay and contains kaolin and zinc oxide, which that remove impurities and refine the skin’s surface, helping to reduce oily-skin breakouts. It also contains mallow, arnica and cucumber which help reduce to inflammation, as well as purifying watercress, lemon and ivy which revive dull skin.

Decleor Hydra Floral White Petal Skin Perfecting Hydrating Sleeping Mask

Okay, so this one may take more than five minutes to work, but TECHNICALLY you only need five minutes to apply it before you go to sleep, so we think it still counts! It’s a refining mask which reduces the appearance of dark spots and hyperpigmentation and allows you to wake up with skin which is recharged, bright, glowing and fresh like dew.

Elemis Herbal Lavender Repair Mask

Skin which is over-sensitised and blemish-prone can really benefit from mask treatments and this one for Elemis is designed to soothe and repair such complexions. It contains rosemary, thyme and lavender, all in a kaolin clay base which is designed to give relief to skin, and cools and decongests oil rich skin. It’s non-setting and non-drying and also ideal for men who’s skin is irritated by shaving.

Opting for Organic

While many people focus on the products that they consume, like foods and drink, and opt for organic products to ensure the best quality, not everyone has the same idea when it comes to the products we put ON our bodies. Here at Pure Beauty, we stock many products which contain organic ingredients and these are five of our favourites:

Elemis British Botanical Shower Cream

This shower cream from Elemis is a nourishing formula based on organic oats and contains essential oils of lavender, chamomile, geranium and palmarosa, all of which were produced in Great Britain. Omega-rich echium oil works to hydrate and nourish the skin, whilst vitamin and mineral rich organic Oats and Rosemary gently cleanse the skin, for a truly restorative in-shower experience.

Dermalogica Multivitamin Power Firm

This firming cream from Dermalogica contains organic silicones – this is important because low-quality silicones can drag on the skin, create a sticky feel and can even bobble on the skin rather than soaking in properly. It’s designed for ageing skin and promises to protect against damage, accelerate repair, strengthen elasticity and improve smoothness.

Elemis Dynamic Resurfacing Gel Mask

This gel mask from Elemis is designed to resurface the skin, leaving it look tighter, firmer and more even. It harnesses the power of organic fruit acids from acerola cherries which safely and effectively exfoliate the skins surface adding to the resurfacing efficacy of the mask. It bears the Elemis promise, which means it contains no parabens, sodium laureth sulphate, DEA, mineral oils or artificial colours.

Elemis Quiet Mind Temple Balm

This little bottle contains a highly powerful blend of essential oils, including organic menthol, which combine to soothe the senses, aid relaxation, make sleep come more easily and help promote harmony, tranquillity and relaxation. As well as menthol, it contains patchouli, eucalyptus and lemon, all known for their calming properties.

Elemis Pro-Collagen Quartz Lift Serum

This serum from Elemis is a huge ally in the battle against ageing and contains methylsilanol manurronate, an organic derivative of seaweed, which helps to bind moisture in the layers of the skin, leaving skin feeling firm and strengthened whilst smoothing the appearance of wrinkles. The product has an immediate tightening and firming effect – we like to call it our ‘face lift in a bottle’!

The humble apricot might not seem like anything special but it actually contains a whole host of things which are incredibly good for us, which is why several of the products we sell contain some element of apricot in them. From antioxidants to all-natural moisturisation, we take a look at some of the best apricot containing products from Elemis and Dermalogica and exactly what they’re doing to keep you beautiful.

Elemis Soothing Apricot Toner

One of the things which apricot does best is soothing the skin and reducing irritation, which is why Elemis has based this toner on it’s properties. As well as containing apricot extract, the toner also contains Sweet Betty flower, which Tones, moisturises and re-balances precious pH levels without the use of alcohol and saponins from Quillaja Wood help to soothe and harmonise the skin. As will all Elemis products, this toner has no parabens, sodium laureth sulphate or mineral oils, which can damage the skin in the long run. Sweep it over the face with a cotton wool pad after cleansing the face, or use as a spritz when your face is feeling hot, dry or tight.

Dermalogica Precleanse

You may be asking “why do I need to PRE-cleanse my skin?”, but this precleanse from Dermalogica has been described as a wonder-product by professional dermatologists, beauty professionals and our customers alike. It dissolves oil-based make-up, sebum, sunscreens and environmental pollutants from skin’s surface, enabling skin to be thoroughly cleansed, all without compromising the delicate balance of natural oils which exist within the skin. It contains apricot kernel oil which not only helps soothe to irritation, nourish, and moisturize the skin, but is also an excellent source of fatty acids, Vitamin A and Linoleic Acid which help to reverse and combat the signs of ageing.

Elemis Pro-Radiance Illuminating Eye Balm

The eyes can be a really tricky area to deal with; the skin is very delicate and the whole area can be really sensitive, even if the rest of your face isn’t, however, they’re also one of the main areas where people report the early signs of ageing first. This means that a product which is powerful yet soothing and delicate is imperative, which is where this balm from Elemis comes in. As well as containing omega-rich apricot kernel oil which nourishes the delicate eye contour area, it also benefits from chamomile, arnica and bird of paradise flower, which reduce wrinkles, dark circles and puffiness. It’s free from fragrance and any irritating preservatives and is perfect for use on even the most sensitive of eyes.
