Elemis Hydra-Boost Sensitive Day Cream

Whether it’s outbreaks, fine lines, redness, sensitivity or dryness, at Pure Beauty we are confidence we have a product, or two, that can help save your skin.

Redness
If redness is the bane of your life, the Dermalogica Redness Relief Essence is just for you. This lightweight toner gently calms and balances sensitive skin, leaving it feeling soothed and rested. Concentrated like a serum, this product has a refreshing formula that not only deals with redness but thanks to a gentle blend of ingredients it helps relieve, restore and hydrate skin so that discomfort and dehydration is taken out of the equation.

Sensitive skin
The Elemis Hydra-Boost Sensitive Day Cream is the perfect antidote to sensitive skin. This anti-oxidant rich, calming, fragrance-free day cream offers hydration to even the most sensitive skin. Hyaluronic acid locks in moisture, while naturally rich anti-oxidant Mirabilis Jalapa and orange blossom milk, soothe, moisturise and comfort. Used on a daily basis, after toning, your skin will start to feel more balanced, calmer and beautifully hydrated.

Fine lines
Age, genetics, water intake and environmental issues all play a part in fine lines, but there are products that can ease them. We love the Decleor Mandarine Smoothing Oil Serum as it can help with the first signs of ageing and correct both the fine lines and wrinkles that come to us all, and it smells pretty good to. A unique blend of hazelnut, sunflower and camellia oils means that from the first use skin appears even and radiant. This can be used morning and night and it is suggested you warm two drops between your palms and then massage into cleansed skin, and then apply your moisturiser.

Acne attacks
Most people suffer from some form of acne during their lives, and not just when they are teenagers. There are many reasons for spots to occur, but there is one thing we know and that is that the Dermalogica Breakout Control works at getting rid of them. This is an effective, invisible cream that clears, controls and prevents breakouts thanks to a gentle but effective mix of ingredients. The silky, fast-absorbing formula starts to work on application, soothing the skin as bacteria is taken away.

Sad eyes
The skin around our eyes is super thin which means it’s one of the first places to show signs of ageing. The Jan Marini C-ESTA Eye Repair Concentrate comes with high levels of vitamin C along with DMAE and CoEnzyme Q10 which together address the visible signs of ageing around the eyes. Regular application can lead to the reduced appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, and because the complex encourages collagen production, skin looks tighter, firmer and so much healthier too.

These Unexpected Things Could be Making Your Complexion Worse

If you suffer with acne or have a tendency to break out in spots, there’s a good chance that you’re religious about sticking to a skincare routine. However, if it seems like your skincare isn’t doing a good job, you could be missing one of these five things, which can all exacerbate acneic skin.

Dirty Glasses

If you wear glasses, the frames are probably in contact with your skin for most of the day and can harbour germs and bacteria from the sebum in your skin. Failing to disinfect your glasses can cause nasty outbreaks, but try to use a plastic-friendly cleaner if your frames aren’t metal as high alcohol content could make them brittle.

Wash Cloths

If you use a washcloth like the Dermalogica Ultimate Buffing Cloth or Elemis Luxury Cleansing Cloth Duo, they probably do a great job of keeping your skin clean. However, keeping your cloths clean is imperative, so make sure you put them through the washing machine at least once a week to keep bacteria at bay.

Spicy Food

Even if you don’t have a specific food intolerance, eating spicy food can cause an inflammatory response in your body, which can lead to spots and redness on your face. Try to avoid food which is too hot, or if you must indulge, use Dermalogica Breakout Control afterwards.

Hair Products

Hair products go on our head, not your face, right? WRONG! Hair products can spread onto your face throughout the day and can block pores and cause inflammation. Try to avoid hair products which are wax-based if you’re prone to acne, and ensure you wash your hairline thoroughly with Dermalogica Foaming Wash in the evening, once your hair doesn’t need to remain styled.

Beards

Got a partner with a beard, or worse, stubble? Well, we hate to break it to you, but spending an extended amount of time kissing and cuddling a person with facial hair can have a terrible effect on your complexion. As well as being abrasive to the skin and causing redness and irritation, beards can also harbour bacteria (unless the wearer is scrupulous about cleanliness) which can make acne worse.

 Dermalogica Pore Control Scrub

At Pure Beauty, we really appreciate our customers and their loyalty, so at the moment to say thank you, we are giving away free Dermalogica trial sizes of products with all Dermalogica orders.

There is no qualifying spend for this offer, although there is a minimum order value which must be reached before you can go to the checkout.

As this great offer is exclusive to Dermalogica products, so we thought we would have a look at what you could buy in-order to then get something for nothing.

Healthy skin has to be clean skin and for this you need the Dermalogica Special Cleansing Gel in your life. This soap-free, foaming gel takes away the dirt of the day, and the dulling dead cells from the night before, but doesn’t harm your natural moisture balance. Suitable for everyone, Balm Mint and Lavender extracts calm and soothe complexions, while magical Quillaja Saponaria gently foams away make-up and harmful toxins.

You might not think you need to use a toner, but we would have to disagree on that. The Dermalogica Multi-Active Toner is made from skin loving Aloe, as well as soothing Lavender, Balm Mint and Arnica which together add hydration after cleansing. Free from artificial fragrances and colours, far from drying the skin (this is what many people from a toner) this unique blend of goodness will keep your skin smooth and refreshed and will help your moisturiser to work better too.

Speaking of moisturisers, we love the Dermalogica Active Moist because it really does help you have better-looking skin. This lightweight, oil-free moisturiser simply sinks into normal and oily skin, offering it an invisible but effective barrier which prevents moisture loss and helps to blur those fine, dehydration lines.

As we are coming up to Christmas, you might want to add a little cheer to your skin, and the Dermalogica Charcoal Rescue Masque is the perfect way to do this. This relatively new, all-in-one treatment cleverly detoxifies, brightens and invigorates your skin so it looks fresh and glowing. The formula is fast acting and easily removed with warm water, and is the perfect way to rescue tired, lackluster, dull skin that might have been partying a little too hard!

We cater for all ages at Pure Beauty, so for the teens in your life, or anyone dealing with outbreaks, why not take a look at the Dermalogica Clear Start range? We are pretty impressed with the Dermalogica Pore Control Scrub, which as you would expect, washes away those clogging dead skin cells, while purifying the skin. Tea Tree Oil offers a natural antiseptic and antimicrobial that kills bacteria, and after the first use, skin is soothed and cooled thanks to added Licorice, Green Tea and Menthol.

If you would like more details about this offer, or the products we sell, get in touch today for expert advice.

Happy shopping.

Please note that the free Dermalogica trial sizes must be added to your basket at the time of ordering and cannot be sent after the order has been dispatched, for more details look at the website.

Let’s face it, even when you love your job, have a great boss and colleagues you get on well with, work can get stressful.

Commutes, long hours, computer screens and being contactable pretty much 24/7 thanks to mobile devices and the digital age, means work can take over your life if you aren’t careful.

What many of us don’t realise is that while a little adrenaline can keep us on our toes, ongoing stress can have a negative impact on our health, relationships, sleep and if you aren’t careful it can cause burn out.

We have looked at some easy ways of taking care of yourself while keeping your career on track.

Know what’s important
We are constantly saying we are busy, but don’t make this a reason to be late, tried and in the end, less productive. Each morning before you look at emails or make any calls, write a list of what you need to do that day and check on any meetings that have been scheduled. When you prioritise your workload, it is easier to have a stress-free day and if additional tasks come in, look at just how important they are before dropping your original plans.

Learn to say no
We are conditioned to say yes, but doing so can pile on the stress and make you less efficient. It isn’t easy to say no to a new project from your boss, especially when a promotion is on the cards, but if things feel too much, sit down with them and look at where other tasks can be delegated and what the deadlines are – tomorrow isn’t always realistic.

Take breaks
If you spend most of your day at a desk, you need to get up, walk away and take regular breaks. Making a cup of tea, walking to talk to a colleague, going to the post room and even making a phone call in reception are simple but effective ways to have a break from sitting down and staring straight ahead. When it comes to lunch time, it might be tempting to sit and work through your to-do list, but this is the perfect time to get away from it all. Go for a walk, have lunch at a local coffee shop or pack sandwiches and head to the park and clear your head.

Meditate at work
Meditation isn’t just for yoga classes and a quick session at your desk can really help bring clarity to your day. Even if you are having a super busy time, downing tools for five minutes, taking stock of your breathing and taking a step back can help increase your productivity levels and leave you feeling energised. There are loads of great books and apps out there, we like Buddhify, so have a look around and find something that works for you.

Work-life balance
We know it sounds like meaningless jargon, but it is vital to plan your free time as well as work diary to get the right balance. Having a mix of hobbies, a group of friends to meet up with, gym membership or regular Zumba class to attend, will all help you turn off from work and relax.

Book a holiday
Just as you need to take a break in the day, you also need to use your holiday time. We aren’t saying take a full two weeks, but a long weekend with the girls or a mini break by the sea can really revive you and you will go back into work feeling refreshed and smiling.

So, if you want to be more productive and less stressed, take time out for you and we think you will see a difference.
