Elemis Hydra-Boost Sensitive Day Cream

Whether it’s outbreaks, fine lines, redness, sensitivity or dryness, at Pure Beauty we are confidence we have a product, or two, that can help save your skin.

Redness
If redness is the bane of your life, the Dermalogica Redness Relief Essence is just for you. This lightweight toner gently calms and balances sensitive skin, leaving it feeling soothed and rested. Concentrated like a serum, this product has a refreshing formula that not only deals with redness but thanks to a gentle blend of ingredients it helps relieve, restore and hydrate skin so that discomfort and dehydration is taken out of the equation.

Sensitive skin
The Elemis Hydra-Boost Sensitive Day Cream is the perfect antidote to sensitive skin. This anti-oxidant rich, calming, fragrance-free day cream offers hydration to even the most sensitive skin. Hyaluronic acid locks in moisture, while naturally rich anti-oxidant Mirabilis Jalapa and orange blossom milk, soothe, moisturise and comfort. Used on a daily basis, after toning, your skin will start to feel more balanced, calmer and beautifully hydrated.

Fine lines
Age, genetics, water intake and environmental issues all play a part in fine lines, but there are products that can ease them. We love the Decleor Mandarine Smoothing Oil Serum as it can help with the first signs of ageing and correct both the fine lines and wrinkles that come to us all, and it smells pretty good to. A unique blend of hazelnut, sunflower and camellia oils means that from the first use skin appears even and radiant. This can be used morning and night and it is suggested you warm two drops between your palms and then massage into cleansed skin, and then apply your moisturiser.

Acne attacks
Most people suffer from some form of acne during their lives, and not just when they are teenagers. There are many reasons for spots to occur, but there is one thing we know and that is that the Dermalogica Breakout Control works at getting rid of them. This is an effective, invisible cream that clears, controls and prevents breakouts thanks to a gentle but effective mix of ingredients. The silky, fast-absorbing formula starts to work on application, soothing the skin as bacteria is taken away.

Sad eyes
The skin around our eyes is super thin which means it’s one of the first places to show signs of ageing. The Jan Marini C-ESTA Eye Repair Concentrate comes with high levels of vitamin C along with DMAE and CoEnzyme Q10 which together address the visible signs of ageing around the eyes. Regular application can lead to the reduced appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, and because the complex encourages collagen production, skin looks tighter, firmer and so much healthier too.

Elemis Superfood Facial Oil

If you’ve overdone things out in the sun this summer, don’t panic, it happens to all of us at some point. Burning, redness and dehydration are all a result of stronger rays, increased temperatures as well as sea salt and chlorine which stick to our skin when we jump into the water to cool down our bodies.

We have put together some of the products we sell at Pure Beauty that can help soothe summer skin and offer you comfort and relief.

Dry skin recovers overnight, so give nature a helping hand by applying the Elemis Hydra-Nourish Night Cream before you go to sleep. This rich cream helps prevent moisture loss while it nourishes and de-stresses tired skin. The magic happens thanks to Persian silk tree extract which reduces the ageing signs of fatigue, while hyaluronic acid steps in and provides added hydration, which we need after a day by the pool. A sensual blend of geranium and ylang-ylang calms and rebalances the skin so that in the morning it feels as rested and replenished as you.

You might think that using an exfoliator in the summer will take away your tan, but what it will actually do is help your skin be better than ever. We adore the Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant because it can be used everyday to gently buff away dead cells so that skin is left smoother and brighter. A magic blend of green tea, ginkgo and oatmeal calm inflammation, while bearberry, aspergillus, grapefruit and liquorice balance uneven skin pigmentation which can strike when the sun beats down on us. Use daily and we think you will be delighted with the results.

Washing the day, and night away can be one way to ensure your skin doesn’t get tight and dehydrated in the summer. The Elemis Gentle Foaming Facial Wash comes with extracts of fig and apple as well as oils from Amazonian trees, and together they soften the skin and maintain key natural oil levels. Mix with warm water and massage the luxurious, creamy lather into your skin and when you rinse the suds away, your skin will thank you for the care and attention you have given it.

We all react differently to the sun. If you find your complexion gets red and inflamed, however careful you are, you might want to give the Dermalogica UltraCalming Serum Concentrate a go. This super silky serum is perfect for treating, correcting and defending against inflammation and redness and can even prevent flare-ups. Best suited for sensitive skin, which often doesn’t like the sun anyway, this can be used morning and night and will help keep trouble at bay.

Our faces really can take the brunt of the summer, so if you need a little extra loving, the Elemis Superfood Facial Oil delivers! This unique blend of superfoods deeply nourishes and hydrates the skin and brings it back to life. Anti-oxidant, omega-rich broccoli, flax seed and radish come together to feed sad skin, and because this is a lightweight, non-greasy product, it is easily absorbed so your complexion becomes soft, balanced and healthy.

If you want to stay out of the sun but still glow, our money is on the Decleor Gradual Glow Hydrating Body Milk. Packed with super moisturising, extra softening ingredients, Decleor has bought together extracts of vanilla and magnolia essential oil to create a light melting cream that ensures your skin has the sun-kissed glow we love, without the burn we don’t. For best results, apply to your skin daily after showering and exfoliating and once you have massaged it evenly into your body, wash your hands so there are no signs that you’ve had behind the scenes help to look so fantastic.

For more information, samples or if you just want to ask us what we think might work for you, get in touch and we are here to help you get your best skin ever.

How to get your life together this summer

www.pexels.com

As we are fast heading to the longest day of the year, how are you feeling about your life?

Is everything great, or could things be just a little bit better?

A bit healthier?

More organised?

Could you sleep better and feel more energised?

Well, we have put together a few ideas that we hope will let you be the very best version of you, from dawn to dusk.

Nutrition
How often do you sacrifice meal planning and cooking from scratch, for taking shortcuts and getting take-aways? It is so, so easy to get caught up in the pressures of life and the demands of everyone around you, but the truth is that won’t do anyone any favours. But, we do get why it happens. The key is to figure out what to eat each week, ensure you have the shopping organised so that you can then cook recipes that don’t require a massive amount of preparation but taste great and are good for you.

Try to eat foods that nourish your body, support your life, and make you feel and look your best! Keep sugar and alcohol down and fruit and veg high.

Keep stress under control
Stress is totally debilitating, draining, and can have massive damaging implications on our health, energy, and ability to thrive. Let’s face it, stress can stop us from achieving lasting health and wellness, so it is important to look at how we deal with it so that we don’t burnout, or lash out. If we don’t monitor stress levels, we can age before our time, get sick more often than we should, and feel anxious all the time as hormones run rampant around in our bodies.

Think again about what you eat and drink. How much time you work and spend at your screens, and consider how best to get good sleep at night so you wake feeling rested. Make time for you and relax. If you are worried about your stress levels, speak to your family, friends or GP and get some support in place.

Exercise
We have said this before, but it is key to take exercise because it has so many amazing benefits. It’s a natural stress reducer, it gets the blood flowing through your entire body, including your brain, and this can help you focus, think more clearly and allow you to perform better. Exercise gives you glowing, healthy skin and can help improve your immune system.

We aren’t saying that you need to train for a marathon or start boxing for England, but find something you like doing and in time, you will love it and all that it brings to you.

So, grab your trainers, get some funky workout gear, a bottle of water, and let those feel good endorphins racing around your system, making you feel fab.

Just say no
This isn’t easy, as so many of us are people pleasers, but it is important to have boundaries in place so you are OK saying ‘no’. Yes, you want to be able to help others, but if you don’t put yourself from time to time, you won’t be able to help anyone else. Look at what you have to do day to day, work out what your priorities really are, and if you can’t take anything else on, don’t.

We hope you have a great summer and that some of these steps will ensure you are on the right path to being the best you.

How to keep up the good work after Dry January

If you were one of the thousands who made it through Dry January without a drink, congratulations.

The temptation to make up for lost time might cross your mind, but Long Islands Ice Teas all night long, might not be the best idea for your head, you waistline or your pocket.

What we are say is, you don’t need to give up booze altogether, but there are many benefits of cutting down how much you drink. In the short-term you will feel fresher when you wake up in the morning, have more energy, enjoy clearer skin and even lose those stubborn extra pounds.

Over time you will find that consuming less alcohol will have so many plus sides you will wonder why you didn’t do it sooner.

Improved mood
There is no doubt that drinking can make you feel depressed and hangovers often make you feel down in the dumps anxious and so cutting back could really make you feel happier.

Better sleep
Drinking can really disrupt your sleep patterns and prevent you from getting the good quality sleep that keeps you healthy. Cutting down on alcohol should help you feel rested when you wake up and drink free days will really improve your sleep.

Improved behaviour
Judgement and behaviour often go out of the window, especially when you’ve had one too many. Irrational and aggressive behaviour easily happens after a big night out and memory loss only make things worse the next day. Go easy on the beers and even offer to be the designated driver every now and again and lay off the booze altogether.

Better health
You might think that a regular drink helps you relax and unwind, but the reality is it can play havoc with your immune system and internal organs, so don’t over do it or you could pay the price with colds and infections.

With all of this said, we have had a look at how to keep your drinking at a sensible level all year round, rather than for just one month.

Make a plan
Make a decision about how much you are going to each week, set a limit and write it done.

Budget for It
Don’t forget that booze costs pounds, so just be aware of what you are spending on drinking each week and pair that up with your plan.

Do it together
If you tend to drink with work colleagues, family members, your partner or friends, let them know your new drinking intentions and see if they want to put a limit on things too.

One step at a time
We aren’t saying give up the juice right this minute, but if you make small changes every week, you will soon find you are drinking less and loving the benefits.

Go Small
Yes, BOGOF offers and happy hours are fun, but they can be your ruin. Go for singles over doubles, have a bottle of beer rather than a pint and don’t go large when it comes to the size of your wine glass.

Swap it for water
To get ahead of the game, before your first alcoholic drink and between each subsequent one, have a glass of water.

Alcohol free days
Try to have several drink free days each week and see how you sleep and if your mood improves when you swap a G&T for a cup of tea.

See the savings
Put the money you save on drink each week into a jar and treat yourself to a spa day, new haircut or those shoes you have always wanted at the end of the year.

Most of all, enjoy a happier, healthier, wealthier you.
