www.pexels.comWhether it’s a pile of clothes on your bedroom floor, or a stack of dirty dishes in your sink, keeping top of cleaning at home can be hard and clutter can soon take over.

If you feel you’re living in a state of constant mess, we have some ideas to help you take back control and get a home that is clean, clear and clutter-free which means you can sit back and relax.

A place for everything
If you get home and put your phone, keys and purse straight on the kitchen table, this needs to stop. Have a designated space or bowl for essential items and this clutter free game-changer will keep things tidy and save you constantly looking for lost belongings.

Have hooks by the front door
Having a simple set of hooks by the front door means you’ll always know where they are – simple but true. Get in the door, shut the door, put the keys on a hook and you’ll never look back.

Keep shoes out of the house
Leaving dirty shoes at the front door won’t only keep dirt out but it will save them being left all over the house, making a mess, tripping you over and generally cluttering things up.

Have a clear out
We aren’t saying you need to declutter your house in a day because you’ll be exhausted, instead clear the clutter in bite-size chunks of time – think 30 minutes to a couple of hours. Go room by room, drawer by drawer, cupboard by cupboard or shelf by shelf – whatever works for you. Ensure you have rubbish, recycling and donation bags as well as a duster and cloths so you can clean as you go.

Buy less
We know that those BOGOF offers are tempting, but if you bulk buy toilet rolls, washing powder and dishwasher tablets or having too many pairs of jeans, where are you going to put them? Each time you are about to buy something, ask yourself, do I really need it, is there somewhere for it to go in my home and am I buying it for the right reason? If you answer no to even one of these, put your card away and keep clutter at bay.

Check out the garden
It’s not just our houses that can get full of clutter, but outside spaces too. From lawn mowers and plastic slides, to old wooden benches and hoses, it is amazing how much ‘stuff’ gets slung in the garden which leaves it looking cluttered and messy. Set aside an afternoon and get to work clearing out, tidying up and straightening out your outside spaces so they are places you want to spend time, rather than somewhere all the junk is stored.

Recycle
Not only does recycling help keep the environment safe, it keeps clutter out of your house too. Cardboard boxes, cans, old clothes, broken toys, unused phones, comics and books are often found in corners, cupboards and under tables where they gather dust and clutter things up, so sort them out, recycle them and free up your space.

Keep it up
Once you have made steps to sort out the clutter, do your best to keep it that way. Not only will having less clutter mean you won’t have to tidy up as much, but you’ll also be able to find things because they won’t be under a pile of dusty papers, they’ll be where you left them.

Elemis Pro-Collagen Marine Cream for Men On 16th June, dads around the county will be encouraged to sit back, relax and enjoy some down time with family as they celebrate Father’s Day.

At Pure Beauty we sell some fantastic products that will make any dad feel loved and appreciated, the question is, what will be right for the dad in your life?

Let’s kick things off with the Elemis Pro-Collagen Marine Cream for Men. This clinically proven formula hydrates and firms the skin and also helps improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, but how does this work? Mediterranean algae has been super charged with anti-oxidant rich ginkgo biloba which together sink into the skin and feed it with goodness, so it is left feeling smooth and replenished.

For sporty dads, how about the Dermalogica Protection 50 Sport SPF50, because we all need to be protected from UV light and do as much as we can do limit damage caused by the sun. This lightweight formula helps neutralise damage and bind moisture to skin without a greasy after-feel and it comes in a handy tube that will fit in any gym back, cycling pack, climbing rucksack or swim kits.

If your dad is a bit of a hipster, the Elemis Smooth Result Shave and Beard Oil is a winner. This multi-purpose oil softens facial hair as well as getting skin ready for a shave thanks to added. Jojoba has been added to sooth and heal, while grape seed oil is part of the mix because it is super moisturising and nourishing.

Dads who like to play golf, garden or who have hard jobs, will often complain about aches and pains, so why not come to their rescue with a bottle of Elemis Aching Muscle Super Soak, and maybe a bottle of wine too? This gorgeous product helps to ease overworked, tired and aching muscles and is super popular with Pure Beauty customers. Birch, juniper, clove, lavender, thyme and chamomile have been mixed with sea salt and when added to bath water the dreamy concoction warms muscles and recharges bodies.

For a new take on after shave, we think trendy dads will go for the Decleor Soothing Aftershave Fluid. This light, non oily fluid soothes razor burns, helps heal small cuts and slows down hair re-growth. It also helps to rebalance skin by reducing excess sebum and last but not least, it hydrates the skin so that it looks, and feels, soft and supple. Winner!

If you want your dad to start, and end, the day in style, we would suggest buying them the Elemis Deep Cleanse Facial Wash. The gel has been made from a unique mix of oak bark, spearmint and peppermint that come in a milk protein base and together they remove impurities, decongest the skin and prevent ingrown hairs. The result is great skin and a happy dad – what more could you ask for?

For more information, get in touch and we would love to help you get it right for your dad this Father’s Day.

Stressed?

Over worked and under paid?

Tired?

Anxious?

Far from being words that are banded around for the sake of it, for many of us this is the reality of 21st century living.

We are expected to be on the ball, on trend and down with the kids 24/7 and sometimes, things can get a bit too much.

We have put together some easy ideas of how to free your mind so you can relax and chill out once in a while rather than constantly having your brain in free fall mode.

Breath
Before you do anything else, sit back, count to ten and breath. Focus on your breathing, feel the air go into your body and out and just stop for a few minutes and regroup.

Talk
After breathing, comes talking. If you bottle everything up, then it is only going to get worse and seem harder and harder to deal with. Open up to your partner, mum or a close friend and they may have ideas about how you can make changes and find a positive way forwards.

Live in the moment
Whatever is making you anxious right now, isn’t going to last. Breakdown what is bothering you into manageable chunks and tackle it one step at a time. For example, if you are moving house you might feel overwhelmed, but step back, make a list, work out what needs to be done and if you can, delegate.

Not this again
If you are worried about an interview, think back and see if was the same the last time you went for a new job? If it was, and you got the job, what are you worried about? You aced it last time and we bet it will be the same the time round too.

It’s not all about you!
Harsh we know, but not everything that happens in this world is about you. Yes we can all feel put upon or have our sensitive days, but thinking every situation revolves around you in some way can be really destructive and you could be missing out on a lot of fun.

Look at the bigger picture
Ask yourself whether the issue that is on your mind right now will still be there tomorrow, in a week or in a month. It is unlikely it will be, so regroup, relax and look at what is going on in the world and see there is more to life than a difficult boss or messy flatmate.

Preparing for the worst
I will lose my job. He is going to dump me. She doesn’t want to be my best friend anymore. We tend to jump to conclusions and dwell on the worst-case scenarios and this can lead to stress and depression. It is far better to talk to the person involved face to face and find out what is really going on before you make yourself ill believing the world is about to end.

Take some exercise
Social media, long hours and desk based jobs mean many of us get less exercise than ever. Try to get some fresh air every day and even if you have a brisk walk or a quick swim, your heart beat will go up and the endorphins will pump good vibes around your body.

Laugh
If nothing else, remember to laugh. Life is short so make the most of it and enjoy every single day you have.
