Elemis BIOTEC Skin Energising Day Cream SensitiveDryness, blemishes, itches, redness, tingles, tightness and stinging are all signs of sensitive skin and something many people feel they have to live with.

We are here to tell you, the suffering is over.

At Pure Beauty we sell a range of products designed to nourish, sooth and love sensitive skin and today we are putting some of our favourites in the spotlight.

The Elemis BIOTEC Skin Energising Day Cream Sensitive is great for sensitive skin that needs extra support and care. Scientifically proven to help increase cell energy, the BIO-ENERGY complex of zinc and copper increases cell energy so that complexions are bought back to life. Thanks to barley seed and cupuacubutter, sensitive and distressed skin, becomes calm and happy.

If you are looking for immediate hydration for dry, sensitive skin, the Dermalogica UltraCalming™ Calm Water-Gel is a great option. This weightless, refreshing gel sinks into skin on application and creates a weightless barrier. Hyaluronic acid technology works on the various layers of the skin so that moisture is locked in while apple fruit extract and glycerine really softens it. The overall effect is soothed, calm skin that can breathe more easily.

For dry limbs, the Decleor Lavender Fine Relaxing Bath and Shower Gel is fantastic. Thanks to loving lavender essential oil, your skin is left feeling soft and hydrated as well as smelling fabulous. Use a little amount of the gel under the shower or in the shower, massage into your gently and rinse off before patting dry and using the Decleor Satin Softening Dry Oil before dressing.

Lavender, willow, and myrrh have been blended to create the Elemis S.O.S. Emergency Cream. This intense moisturiser restores hydration levels as well as repairing and de-sensitising skin. Perfect as a base for make-up, this magic healing cream can be used morning and night which means relief is delivered 24/7.

We love the Jan Marini Age Intenrention Gentle Cleanser because the mild, non-irritating formula helps ease sensitive skin, and can be use around the eyes. This gentle, non-foaming cleanser is made from a blend of green tea, grape seed and chamomile extract and can be used daily to help you get the skin you have always wanted.

At night our skin rests and repairs, and this can be aided with the application of Decleor Rose D’Orient Soothing Night Balm. This natural, preservative-free, melt into the skin balm, is a blissful aromatic night-care treatment for sensitive skin that needs a little extra love. Applying the balm before you go to bed, will soothe skin and reduce irritation so you wake up with soft skin that is ready for the day ahead. We also like the Decleor Organic Rose D’Orient Soothing Comfort Oil Serum becasue it immediately soothes sensitive skin and leaves it softer and more relaxed than ever.

Elemis Balancing Lime Blossom Cleanser

Vitamin E is both a nutrient and an antioxidant, and the oil in its purest form is extremely versatile and nourishing and a great way to feed your skin. You can find Vitamin E in many creams, lotions, hand creams and cleaners as well as sunscreens, moisturisers and skin brighteners.

We have had a look at some of the products we stock that could help you get the skin your deserve because they come with a healthy serving of Vitamin E.

Cleansing your skin is really important, and we would suggest trying the Elemis Balancing Lime Blossom Cleanser if you have combination or congested skin. This lush product removes pollutant build up, dirt and make-up and thanks to extracts of Lime Blossom, Lecithin and that all important Vitamin E, it also helps to balance excess surface oils and soothe your skin.

We love the Dermalogica Skin Smoothing Cream 2.0 and the new formulation means it is better than ever for your complexion. Incorporating Active HydraMesh Technology™ this cream can hydrate your skin for up to 48 hours as well as protecting it from the elements. Vitamin E is just one of the antioxidants that helps reduce free radical activity, and because this cream locks in moisture and protects your skin’s beneficial bacteria, you are left with healthy, soft, smooth skin that you will love.

Vitamin E is also found in the Jan Marini Age Intervention Retinol Plus Mask which is great when it comes to dealing with the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, sun damage, and hyperpigmentation. Packed with Retinol, Hyaluronic Acid, Essential Fatty Acids, Shea Butter and Vitamin E, when applied to the face for just ten minutes, twice a week, you are left with fresh, polish skin that is glowing and healthy.

If dry, ageing skin is a problem for you, we would suggest trying the Dermalogica Multivitamin Power Firm because the blend of ingredients in this firming complex, help to protect, repair and strengthen your skin. Vitamin E, along with Vitamins A and C have been mixed with Red Seaweed and Green Tea to protect vulnerable skin and prevent the moisture loss that can be so ageing around your eyes and mouth.

Dry hands are a problem for many of us and it isn’t surprising given what we subject them to on a daily basis. For hands that are soft and smooth, as well as sweet-smelling, the Elemis Pro-Radiance Hand and Nail Cream is just the ticket. This luxurious cream contains Milk Protein, Avellana Seed Oil, Omega 7, Vitamin E, Camellia, Virgin Plum and Macadamia Oils which together form a silky barrier that locks in moisture. Thanks to Litsea, Jasmine, Magnolia and Vanilla, this cream smells amazing and we think you will be hooked from the very first application.

We are big fans of the Jan Marini Luminate Eye Gel and for good reason. This little pot of goodness not only brightens skin but also helps to reduce the appearance of under eye circles, fine lines and wrinkles. Vitamin E is just one of the ingredients in this gel which will get to work hydrating the eye area, making it look smoother, healthier and brighter.

At Pure-Beauty, we are massive fans of natural essential oils, and even more so during the warm summer months when need to take care of ourselves that little bit more.

We have had a look at the benefits of adding oils into your beauty routine and we think you might be pleasantly surprised at how mother nature can make things so much better.

Keep breakouts at bay
When it is hot we tend to sweat more than usual and this can lead to a build-up of oil under the skin and cause annoying spots. Lavender Oil is perfect for dealing with this because it is packed with the antibacterial and antiseptic properties that can help prevent the bacteria that causes acne from growing as well as treating the blemishes you do get. Dilute a little oil with water and dab gently to the affected area using a clean cotton bud and it will soothe and nourish the skin the natural way. You can also mix the oil with cold water for a simple toner that is especially good for treating oily skin.

We are massive fans of Tea Tree Oil and it is our acne go to product thanks to the really powerful antiseptic qualities and vibrant scent. Simply add a few drops to cool water and apply to your face using a clean soft cloth and let the oils get to work.

Oils for your skin
Bear with us on this one because we know it might sound wrong, but putting oils on your skin can be amazing.
The summer brings many joys, but it can also make our skin dehydrated and tired, however adding an essential oil into the mix can bring it back to life. Rosehip Oil is a good choice because this rich, smooth oil sinks into your skin leaving it soft and supple without a trace of greasiness, just vibrancy. Packed with essential fatty acids plus Vitamins A and C this is a true beauty must have. As well as helping with fine lines, it is also brilliant for the scars and stretch marks many of us are conscious of in the summer but do remember to still apply sun cream if you are going outside.

Look after your head
If you think Chamomile is only for drinking in tea, you’ll be surprised to know that it also soothes and hydrates an irritated scalp – something that can happen when the heat is high. Simply adding a few drops of oil to your shampoo or conditioner can make a big difference and ease itching without the need for any chemicals.

Sage is often thought of as a little bit of magic and we agree when it comes to getting super shiny hair. As an astringent, it is beneficial for hair growth but also fights dandruff and encourages glossy locks. You can simply apply a little oil to your scalp and let nature take care of the rest.

Oils for hair don’t stop here with Argon, Avocado and Coconut all being offering a boost, so them as a regular, weekly treatment and we are pretty sure you will see the shine in no time at all.

Happy feet
Back to those medium-chain fatty acids from Coconut Oil and we would suggest you apply this loving to your feet and give them the care and attention they deserve. Coconut Oil is totally nourishing and will get to work on tough, dry skin, leaving your toes as soft as a baby’s in no time at all.
